«Durchreise»

As part of its biennial collaboration with different schools across the Canton of Aargau, Tanz und Kunst Königsfelden embarks on a new artistic journey together with 110 students from Neuenhof Primary School, under the coordination and artistic direction of Salomé Martins.

Inspired by Michael Ende’s classic Momo, the pedagogical project Durchreise explores time and memory as lived experiences. Through artistic practice, the project invites students to reflect on how they experience time, how they use it, and how everyday moments can become meaningful memories. It encourages them to recognise life as a constant process of change and to understand how personal experience and remembrance shape identity and give life meaning.

During the course of the project, the pupils train weekly with dance professionals from different fields: Contemporary dance is taught by Sophie Larson (USA/CH) and Stefanie Schaarschmidt (D/CH) , while dance theatre and storytelling are led by Dario Dinuzzi (IT). For the first time within the pedagogical project series, the school children are also introduced to the martial art of capoeira, guided by Diego Rutz (CH). Body percussion workshops led by Lida Doumouliaka (GR) invite the pupils to explore the sound of time and experience rhythm through their own bodies.

Alongside movement-based practices, the students engage in analogue photography and cyanotype with artist Sebastiano Bucca (CH). Viviana Gonzalez Mendez (CO) guides the creation of costumes using the cyanotype technique on textiles. Video projections and shadow play are developed with artist Adriana Berwert (CH).

The music for Durchreise is composed by Bálint Dobozi (HU) and will eventually be performed live by him together with his brother Márton Dobozi (HU), creating a direct dialogue between sound, movement, time, and space.

The journey of the project begins on 5 January 2026 and will culminate in four public performances at the Kultur- und Kongresshaus Aarau.

• Schools only: Monday, June 8th 2026 10.15 am & at 2:15 pm
